Learning Objectives
- Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Make more informed decisions and lower patient risk with the use of drug- eluting stents and will be able to describe the appropriate uses of drug-eluting stents as well as optimal implantation techniques.
- Demonstrate improved knowledge of treatment options for structural heart disease and be prepared to employ new techniques for treatment.
- Appropriately choose patients and treatment options for carotid endarterctomy and or carotid stenting and other peripheral vascular disease manifestations.
- Describe the importance and methodology of minimizing the time from onset of chest pain to successful restoration of blood flow to the infarcting myocardium by pharmacologic or invasive strategies or a combination of both (pharmaco-invasive.)
- Understand the indications for closure of atrial septal defects and Patent foramen Ovale in adult patients with adult congenital disease
- Recognize the indications for biventricular pacemaker implantation in patients with congestive heart failure
Target Audience
Concepts in Contemporary Cardiovascular Medicine (CCCM) will be of value to Cardiologists, Interventional Cardiologists, Interventional Radiologists and Vascular Surgeons, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and Cath Lab Technologists.

The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.
